Responsible Gaming
Games should be entertainment, never a way to make money or escape problems. Real-money apps are designed to keep you playing, so it is worth setting your own rules before you start. This page collects practical steps that help.
Warning Signs
Take a step back if any of these sound familiar:
- You spend more money or time than you planned, again and again.
- You play to win back money you have lost.
- You borrow money, use savings meant for bills, or hide your spending from family.
- You feel restless or irritable when you are not playing.
- Gaming is affecting your sleep, studies, work or relationships.
- You keep depositing because a bonus or "VIP level" feels close.
Simple Limits That Work
- Set a monthly budget and treat it as the cost of entertainment, money you expect to lose.
- Decide a time limit for each session and set an alarm.
- Never chase losses. When the budget is gone, stop for the day.
- Keep bonuses in perspective. Bonus money comes with play-through rules designed to keep you playing.
- Do not play when stressed, upset or after drinking.
- Keep gaming money separate. Use a separate UPI account or wallet with only your gaming budget in it.
Taking a Break
If you want to stop for a while:
- Uninstall the app and clear its data.
- Ask the app's support to close or suspend your account. Many apps will do this on request.
- Remove saved UPI IDs and bank accounts from the app's wallet.
- Leave Telegram and WhatsApp groups that promote apps and bonuses.
- Tell someone you trust that you are taking a break.
Protect Your Money and Data
- Never share your UPI PIN, OTP or bank password with anyone, including people claiming to be customer support.
- Download apps only from official links. Cloned APKs are used to steal payment details.
- Be wary of anyone selling "tricks", "hacks" or "sure-win" predictions. They are scams.
Get Free Help in India
If gaming is causing you distress, you do not have to deal with it alone.
- Tele-MANAS, the Government of India's free mental health helpline, is available on 14416 or 1-800-891-4416, in many Indian languages.
- Speak to a doctor or counsellor. Problem gambling is a recognised condition and can be treated.
- In an emergency, call 112.
For Parents
These apps are for adults only. Use the parental controls on your child's phone to block installs from unknown sources, and talk openly about how real-money games and their bonuses work.
