Dragon vs Tiger and Andar Bahar: Rules, Payouts and Real Odds

Dragon vs Tiger and Andar Bahar: Rules, Payouts and Real Odds

Dragon vs Tiger and Andar Bahar are the two fastest card games in most Yono lobbies. A round takes seconds, the rules fit in a sentence, and there are no decisions to make beyond where to bet. That simplicity is exactly why it is worth knowing the odds: when rounds are this fast, small edges add up quickly.

Dragon vs Tiger

Rules

One card is dealt to the Dragon side and one to the Tiger side. The higher card wins. Aces are lowest and kings are highest; suits do not matter for the main bets. You place your bet before the cards are shown.

Bets, Payouts and Real Odds

Online tables usually use several decks. With eight decks, a tie (both cards of the same rank) happens about 7.5% of the time.

BetTypical payoutChance of winningHouse edge
Dragon1 to 1About 46.3%About 3.7%
Tiger1 to 1About 46.3%About 3.7%
Tie at 8 to 18 to 1About 7.5%About 33%
Tie at 11 to 111 to 1About 7.5%About 10%
Dragon vs Tiger bets (eight decks, typical rules)

On most tables, if a tie happens you lose half of any Dragon or Tiger bet, which is where the 3.7% edge on those bets comes from. The tie bet looks generous, but at 8 to 1 it gives up about a third of every rupee staked in the long run. Check the payout on your table before betting.

Andar Bahar

Rules

One card, the joker or game card, is placed face up in the middle. You bet on whether a card of the same rank will appear first on the Andar (inside) side or the Bahar (outside) side. Cards are then dealt one at a time to alternating sides until a match appears.

Bets and Payouts

BetTypical payoutNotes
Andar0.9 to 1 when the first card goes to Andar, otherwise 1 to 1Reduced payout balances the head start
Bahar1 to 1The more common winner when Andar starts
Side bets on card countHigher, set by the tableMuch higher house edge than main bets
Andar Bahar main bets (typical rules)

The main bets carry a small house edge of roughly 2%, while side bets on how many cards will be dealt are far more expensive. Rules differ between apps, so read the table's rules first.

7 Up Down in Brief

Two dice are rolled. You bet on 7 Down (2 to 6), exactly 7, or 7 Up (8 to 12). 7 Up and 7 Down each win 15 times in 36 (about 41.7%) and usually pay 1 to 1, because a 7 makes both lose. That is a large edge for a simple-looking game. Our Diwa Lucky guide works through the numbers.

Why Betting Systems Do Not Work

  • Doubling after a loss (Martingale) needs only a short losing run to make the bet enormous.
  • Following patterns ("Tiger has won five times, Dragon is due") fails because every round is independent.
  • Signal groups sell predictions for random results; the only reliable profit is the subscription fee.

The only things you control are how much you bet and when you stop. Set both before you sit down.

Quick Tips

  1. Stick to the main bets and avoid ties and side bets.
  2. Use a small, fixed bet size.
  3. Decide a number of rounds or a time limit in advance.
  4. Never chase losses with bigger bets.

Dragon vs Tiger and Andar Bahar FAQs

How does Dragon vs Tiger work?

One card goes to Dragon and one to Tiger, and the higher card wins. Aces are low and kings are high.

What happens to my Dragon bet on a tie?

On most tables you lose half of your Dragon or Tiger bet when the two cards tie.

Is the tie bet in Dragon vs Tiger a good bet?

No. At the common 8 to 1 payout, the tie bet has a house edge of about 33%, far worse than betting on Dragon or Tiger.

How does Andar Bahar work?

A game card is shown, then cards are dealt alternately to Andar and Bahar until one matches its rank. You bet on which side gets the match.

Why does Andar pay 0.9 to 1 sometimes?

When the first card is dealt to Andar, that side has a head start, so the payout is reduced to balance the odds.

Can you predict Dragon vs Tiger results?

No. Each round is independent, and pattern-based predictions or paid signals do not work.
